Where do you teach lessons?
Most of my lessons are taught at my inviting home studio, located just 2 blocks east of the University of Tulsa.
I also offer to drive to the students’ house if within 10 minutes – I do request $5 for gas/travel time.
What are acceptable forms of payment?
I accept cash, check, and credit/debit cards.
How many instruments do you play?
My main instruments of choice are Piano, Guitar, and Trombone.
While in college, I studied instrumental music education. One of the requirements is to learn every brass and woodwind instrument.
How often should I take lessons?
Students should reserve a weekly timeslot for optimal consistent progress.
What is your cancellation policy?
Except for emergencies, I require at least 24 hour notice if a cancellation is to occur.
Do you teach group lessons?
I sure do. Although I believe that one-on-one lessons are optimal in most situations, group lessons certainly have advantages as well. Some of these advantages include:
- Motivation from the group
- Practice partners outside the standard lesson time (family members, roommates, or close friends)
- Questions that arise that may not have been asked otherwise.

What is a good age for my child to begin taking lessons?
This depends on the specific instrument you’re interested in having your child learn. It is typically an exception to the rule for a student to be recommended to learn instruments younger than the ages listed below:
General Music lessons – 3 to 5 years old
Piano – 6 to 7 years old
Guitar – 9 to 10 years old
Brass/Woodwind – 10 years old
Voice lessons – 10 years old
